Activity: Roosevelt County on Cloth
By: ENMU Golden Student Success Center
Description: Explore Roosevelt County history and landmarks through images on cloth. Fabric squares with pre-printed outlines will be provided for stitchers to decorate in any style. Enthusiastic stitchers can pick up a kit with the cloth, needle, and a selection of embroidery floss to take home and/or join in weekly sit and stitch sessions. For casual participants, come sit and work with fabric markers, fabric paint, and other media in weekly sessions. Children may also color the images on coloring pages. At the end of the summer, squares that are turned in may be joined as a quilt to be displayed.
For Ages: All ages are welcome to participate, children need adult (age 16+) supervision

Activity: Portales New Deal Tour
By: ENMU Golden Student Success Center
Description: "Are you interested in historical sites and artwork located in Portales? The New Deal programs only existed from the late 1930s-1940s but resulted in striking cultural artifacts. Listen to a short lecture about some of the agencies and the programs’ effect on American economy and culture. Immediately afterwards, join us for a walk around the ENMU campus and then an optional drive downtown to see local art and architecture by the Work Progress Administration (WPA), Federal Arts Project (FAP), and more.  Individuals are expected to provide their own transportation downtown for the second part of the tour."
