Local People Supporting Local Solutions

YOU and People Like You

Everything that gets done by United Way of Eastern New Mexico is the impact of donors and volunteers from across the community. People from every walk of life; from every part of Portales and Clovis; ... People like YOU.

United Way is created by the efforts of over 200 volunteers and the donations of over 1700 people in Roosevelt and Curry Counties.

The average volunteer contributed 18 hours, with Board Members volunteers giving approximately 50 hours. The average personal donation to UWENM was $184: the smallest was $3 and the largest was $35,000.

United Way of Eastern New Mexico also depends upon the work of our dedicated Staff to coordinate the efforts of volunteers and carry out our mission of improving lives in our community.

Sharesse Sawyer-Warfel - Fearfully Made Hair Salon (Curry)

I’m Sharesse Warfel. I’ve lived in Clovis for almost 30 years, and
I’m proud to say that I love all things Eastern New Mexico. I’m a member
of the Clovis Rotary club, and our motto is “service above self”, and
I do my absolute best to live that day in and day out.

That is part of the reason I felt getting more involved with UWENM
was the right direction for me.

I long to give back to a community, that poured so much into me over the years.

I have a young family, and we all do our best to serve when needed.
I’m excited to jump into things and see where I fit best. I’m honored by the
opportunity to serve my community in this capacity.

Currently, United Way of Eastern New Mexico employs three full-time employees: Erinn Burch, Executive Director since 2002; Maria Amaro, 2-1-1 Associate; Sarah Navarette, Campaign and Outreach Associate; one part-time employee, Debbi Smith, Office Assistant; and one volunteer staff member, Betty Wagner since 2006.
