Activity: City of Clovis Summer Youth Program

Description: The City of Clovis Summer Youth Program is designed to provide local youth from ages 5-11 with opportunities to engage with the outdoors and learn about the environment. The program is held for eight weeks throughout the months of June and July. This is the first year of the City of Clovis Summer Youth Program and is funded by the New Mexico Outdoor Equity Fund and the City of Clovis.    The 2022 Summer Youth Program will be held from June 6 - July 29, 2022, at Hillcrest Park and the Youth Recreation Building, located at 1504 E 7th Street in Clovis. The hours of the program will be 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. with a 30 minute drop off/pick up period before and after the program each day. Lunch and snacks will be provided each day, and field trips will also be organized throughout the summer.     The program is organized by the City of Clovis and the Parks & Recreation Department to provide local youth with affordable summer programming centered around environmental education. A seasonal Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the program, with the help of ten program assistants and other staff from the City of Clovis.

Description: College prep program for high school students. Must meet low income and/or neither parent has a bachelor’s degree. Students going into 9th grade Fall 2023 can qualify as a CHSFA student.
