Community Care Guide --2-1-1 /Curry Co Health Council Partnership

The Curry County Health Council wanted to produce a simple directory of health related services for the Curry County area and 2-1-1 was glad to collaborate! CCHC members and 211 staff compiled the entries, and 211 helped with layout of the info-tabloid drawing on our experience with the Summer Activity Guide.

We Want to Hear from YOU

United Way Community Conversations 2018

United Way of Eastern New Mexico would like to hear your thoughts on child well- being and youth success in our community.
In the first half of 2018, UWENM will be hosting small "kitchen table style" discussion groups to learn about the aspirations of our local people--from all walks of life. Our plan is to hold 30 or so group sessions across Clovis and Portales.

Why School Supplies?

Young people are our future. Our future leaders. Future business owners. Future hardworking citizens. Future homeowners.

These future adults will have more opportunities for success if they do well in school and graduate to the next level of learning whether trade certifications or college.

In our two counties, our young people are most likely portion of the population to live in poverty. 30% of kids under 19 live in poverty in Curry & Roosevelt Counties.70% of students in Portales and Clovis school districts are eligible for free and reduced school lunch.

We believe we can all do a little extra to support our littlest citizens and in this way we can prevent child abuse. Families with small children often find it difficult to make ends meet every month. Diapers are one expense that these families struggle with. In order to help, the United Way is collecting diapers.

When a family is in need, a pack of diapers can:

"Volunteer Action Center" Puts Volunteering Front and Center

Why a Volunteer Action Center?

Volunteering a the life blood of good works in our community. Every year millions of dollars of labor is contributed by community members and groups to better the lives of neighbors and raise the quality of life for all. Local non-profits, churches, civic groups and student organziations all depend on volunteers to make their work possible. United Way of Eastern new Mexico belives that so much more is possible if we can make connecting with and engaging people easier for agencies, while boosting the satisfaction levels of each volunteer.
