Activity: The Physics behind Roller Coasters with Paper Roller Coasters -
Description: This is a physics-based course, with the goal of understanding the scientific nature behind rollercoasters. The main focus of the class is developing a solid understanding of kinetic and potential energy, and how these two forms of energy carry, a roller coaster cart from start to finish. The students will use this knowledge, to collaborate with their peers to construct paper roller coasters, that will be tested on the final day of class.

Activity: Real Rockets: Design Challenge -
Description: Design, create, and launch a small scale rocket! In this course, students will learn about the math and physics needed to design a stable rocket maximizing the altitude it will reach. They will then create and launch a small scale rocket and complete a post mission analysis to see if their goals were attained and analyze why or why not. Students will be using strong epoxy to asemble their rocket and black powder engines to launch their rockets. Dress comfortably and wear closed-toed shoes. Bring water and a snack.

Description: This course is designed to explore student creativity with a newer form of artistic medium. Acrylic paint pour allows students to create beautiful works of art, with minimal artistic skill. The students will create two 6inX6in works of art, using acrylic paints, and metallic foils.

Activity: STARGAZING WITH STELLARIUM -
Description: Are you drawn to the twinkling night sky? Would you like to gaze at the stars and planets and learn more about constellations and the stories they have to tell? Participants will meet at Ned Houk Park to gaze at the stars using the stargazing app Stellarium. (Other apps like SkyView or StarTracker can be downloaded in addition to Stellarium if you would like to experience different apps.)

Description: Design, create, and test a stomp rocket, focusing on the distance the rocket travels. Increase the distance your rocket travels by changing velocity, air pressure, and angle of launch. Description: Jeet Kune Do is the martial art created by Bruce Lee. It is a principle-driven self-defense with simple and direct, or straightforward, movements and non-classical style. Jeet Kune Do practitioners believe in minimal movements with maximum effects and extreme speed. During the course the student will be educated on basic principles of self-defense. Classes will be conducted in a relaxed and informative manner. Michael Watson has 19 years of experience successfully teaching Jeet Kun Do to all ages. This class is a parental participation class. Parents are encouraged to come with focus mitts.
