Child Well- Being & Youth Success

Join us in building a more properous community by improving child well-being and youth success in Curry & Roosevelt Counties.

At United Way of Eastern New Mexico, we believe that a stronger and more resilient comunity is possible if our young people graduate high school with the skills needed to pursue further education--whether an academic degree or trade or certificate program.

Eastern New Mexico faces a profound challenge to its economic vitality and future. In today’s global economy, our region’s success depends more than ever on the skills of our workforce. Yet too many of our young people are not prepared for the workplace and careers needed by our communities. Their lack of skills not only impacts their own chance at success in life, it threatens our region and our nation’s future prosperity.

That is why it is United Way of Eastern New Mexico's mission to unite neighbors and changes lives in Curry and Roosevelt counties by seeking partners who will give, advocate and volunteer to benefit our local community-- especially through work that promotes child well-being and youth success.

A prosperous local community depends on youth who are prepared for career success.

To help us explore our community's aspirations for Child Well-being and Youth Success we are holding Community Conversations to hear from YOU and people across Clovis and Portales.

To help our young people embrace their decision making responsiblity is creating their own future, we host Reality Check Day for over 850 ninth grade high school students each year.

To raise awareness of the 6,235 children in Roosevelt and Curry Counties who live in poverty, we celebrate Red Nose Day in May.

To reduce the burden of anxiety and guilt for parents who are struggling financially, we have a Diaper Drive every year.

To mkae sure teachers have classrooms full of kids who are ready with all they need, we have a Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive every year.
