 WIN, The Women’s Initiative Network, is a unique organization built of local women that supports United Way projects. WIN members participate in networking events, fundraisers, and community service projects. 

WIN is excited to annouce the creation of "Successful You Career Closet." "Successful You"  provides local women looking for a new start with the professional clothing they need to take the next step, whether it be a suit for a job interview or clothing to start a new professional job.

Also exciting for 2013 is WIN’s 125 for Game Changers. Game Changers is a United Way program to help fund smaller organizations in Clovis and Portales that change the game in people’s lives.  Our goal is for 125 women to donate $125 for a total of $15,625 to help change the game in our community.

Successful You Career Closet and Game Changers are two of the ways that members of  WIN celebrate and empower women and our community. When you become a part of WIN, you  help build a stronger community.

History of WIN

• ·        WIN was founded in fall 2001 by Gayla Brumfield, as a way for women to network and to provide a fundraising strategy to the United Way of Eastern New Mexico. The Kick-off luncheon was held Oct. 29 at the Holiday Inn with 35 women attending. Today the Membership is over 100 women.
• ·        Early fundraisers included a day trip to Ruidoso for shopping and an evening performance of the musical “Titanic” at the Spencer Theater for Performing Arts and al El Beso Del Sol Wine and Cheese Festival.
• ·        In 2003 and 2004, a Holiday Fashion Show and Champagne Brunch were held in December. The event moved to a spring slot in 2005 when it became a Fashion Affair and Tea. In 2007, a champagne brunch was held instead of the tea and in 2008 the event featured a luncheon with tables decorated by attendees. And in 2011 the event will undergo yet another make-over and become “Power of the Purse”
• ·        Periodically, other special events have been held. The first was a Women’s Health Seminar at Clovis Community College in January 2002 which has since turned into our annual Women’s Health and Wellness Day held in October at CCC each year.
• ·        Gayla Brumfield served as the chairwoman of WIN until fall 2005 when Claire Burroughs took over. Claire served in this capacity until August of 2008. Robyne Beaubien was the next head of WIN with her term ending at the conclusion of 2010. New in 2013 is chairwoman, Ernie Kos.
